SEATTLE SOLO PIANO - KEYS TO ELEGANCE

My musical journey began at the age of 4 when I enrolled in the renowned Yamaha Music School in Tokyo. It all started thanks to the encouragement of my preschool teacher, who had grown weary of my impromptu piano performances in her classroom. Without any formal musical training, I found myself creating and singing melodies on her piano.

My time at Yamaha extended until I reached 18, during which I delved into music theory, piano performance, composition, orchestration, ensemble, jazz, and even explored various instruments such as drums and synthesizers. Throughout my childhood, I took part in numerous competitions for compositions as well as solo and ensemble performances in Japan.

During my college years, I pursued a BA in psychology from the University of Utah and a Post-Bacc in music therapy from California State University, Northridge. Actively engaging with clients facing mental, cognitive, emotional, and physical challenges, I utilized the therapeutic power of music to address their needs. While my passion for music extends beyond therapeutic contexts, with certifications in Musikgarten and Kindermusik, I've found joy in being an early childhood eurhythmics educator and a piano instructor, as well as an advocate for vulnerable people in our community. I firmly believe in the healing power of music and the joy it brings to life.

Presently, I serve as a company and school pianist at Pacific Northwest Ballet in Seattle. I perform for weddings, corporate galas, private parties, instrumental auditions, Sunday services, and theater productions across the greater Seattle area. With a diverse repertoire spanning classical, jazz, contemporary hits, Latin, and original compositions, I aim to craft the perfect ambiance for any event. Additionally, I offer duo performances with cello or double bass upon request.
